**Casa Grande and Eloy Firefighters Complete Wildland Firefighting Training**

This week, twelve firefighters from the Casa Grande Fire Department (CGFD) and three firefighters from the Eloy Fire District successfully completed Basic Wildland Firefighting training. The program was led by three instructors: CGFD Captain Andy Miller, CGFD Engineer Garrett Walker, and Eloy Fire District Captain Jeremy Leary.

The training included both classroom instruction and hands-on field exercises to prepare the trainees with key skills needed for wildland firefighting. These firefighters are now better equipped to handle emergencies in wildland settings, strengthening the firefighting capabilities for both the Casa Grande and Eloy communities.

The accomplishment contributes to the ongoing efforts of both fire departments to enhance safety and preparedness in Arizona.

Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway Closed, Reopened After Crash

Maricopa, Ariz. — The Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway was closed in both directions between Hartman Road and White and Parker Road after a serious collision, then reopened at 1:43 p.m. as emergency responders remained on scene and drivers were urged to slow down and give emergency vehicles space, with motorists advised to use Honeycutt Road to reach Hartman and rejoin the highway.
