Scottsdale Police Promote National Seat Belt Day

Staff Report / Scottsdalelocal.org

Scottsdale Police Department is urging residents to observe National Seat Belt Day by emphasizing the importance of seat belt use. According to their report, wearing a seat belt can significantly enhance safety while driving. Specifically, it can reduce the risk of serious injury by 50% and decrease the risk of fatal injuries for drivers and front-seat passengers by 45%.

Additionally, seat belts help keep occupants in the correct position for airbag deployment and can prevent ejection from the vehicle during serious crashes. For further information, residents are encouraged to visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's website at nhtsa.gov and search for seat belts.

The Scottsdale Police Department is promoting this initiative using the hashtags #SafelyScottsdale, #scottsdale, #ScottsdalePD, #seatbelt, and #scottsdaleaz.
